Myofascial Release is a massage technique that stretches the fascia and releases the bonds between the deep fascial layers and muscles with the goal of eliminating pain, increasing range of motion and balancing the body. Trauma, injuries, stress, overuse and poor posture can cause restriction to fascia. Fascia is a layer of tissue that surrounds the muscles and when it has restrictions it directly affects the muscle. Myofascial Release frees fascial restrictions, and allows the muscles to move efficiently. This is usually done by applying shear, compression and tension in various directions. This is one of the techniques used during sports massage. Our Massage Therapist have extensive training in this technique and it produces faster and longer lasting results.
